VIOlinist

los cabos/LOS ANGELES professional violinist —
jen Simone

My favorite thing about being a violinist is that music is Universal and brings people together in that shared moment of listening.

PERFORMER

When playing for weddings, premieres, and other special moments, my approach is rooted in warmth and hospitality—providing soulful, evocative music that brings guests together while also ensuring a stellar client experience.

From the planning process to rehearsal to day-of performance, my priority is setting the perfect tone and flow for any occasion. As a solo violinist with an expansive repertoire that spans multiple genres, I love bringing emotional texture and elegance to oceanside events or rustic farmhouse celebrations just as much as I enjoy providing ambiance at a private estate or luxury hotel. After countless live performances and recording sessions in the L.A. metro area, I’ve maintained a robust network of fellow string players and other freelance musicians. When clients request a string quartet or chamber ensemble, I’m able to seamlessly contract top string players who have extensive experience throughout the film, television, and music industries.

STUDIO MUSICIAN

In the studio, my versatility and broad experience beyond classical standards brings the right sound to any audio project. Musicians enjoy working with me because of my integrity, passion, and genuine approach. When joining a recording session for the day, I bring nuance, precision, and seamless support as a solo violinist who can quickly adapt to any environment.

While I’m always happy to instantly sight-read or play by ear on demand, I’m also deeply invested in collaborating and building community amongst working artists and audio professionals during the writing/composing/development journey.

TEACHING

Teaching violin or viola has brought me so much joy over the years.

As an instructor, I am much more interested in process rather than product, and I pride myself on building relationships with students of all ages and backgrounds. In addition to a private studio, I also have experience teaching in schools and coaching youth orchestras.

Along with technical expertise, being patient and maintaining a kind demeanor (and a sense of humor!) is very important to me when working with students. While the tactile nature of in-person lessons is always helpful, I’m also very comfortable and effective when it comes to virtual instruction onscreen.
